Notice of Meeting

The Board of Commissioners to the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired will meet Saturday, November 7, 2020, beginning at 9:00 A.M.  The Focus Topic will be Surviving COVID-19 – What NCBVI has learned and what they will carry forward. 

The meeting will be held via video conferencing at the Omaha State Office Building, 1313 Farnam Street, Room 227, Omaha, Nebraska and the NCBVI Lincoln Office, 4600 Valley Road, Lincoln District Conference Room, Lincoln, Nebraska.  Everyone attending at the Omaha location must enter the building from the east doors (13^th Street). 

If reasonable accommodations are needed, please contact NCBVI at 402-471-8101 as soon as possible.  Every effort will be made to arrange the needed accommodation.  An agenda can be obtained by calling 877-809-2419 during regular business hours.

All NCBVI offices will be closed on September 7 to celebrate Labor Day.

Notice of Blind Licensee’s Committee Meeting

Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Nebraska Business Enterprise (NBE) Program’s Blind Licensee Committee meeting originally scheduled for September 11, 2020 will be postponed until Friday, September 18, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. in the first floor conference room of The Nebraska Commission for The Blind & Visually Impaired 4600 Valley Road, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Social distancing guidelines will be in effect and face coverings will be required to be worn by everyone in attendance.

The Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (NCBVI) is celebrating the 20^th Anniversary of our inception, along with the 30^th Anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act and the 100^th Anniversary of Vocational Rehabilitation in the United States! 

Tours of the Nebraska Center for the Blind will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 1:50 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to come for a tour.

The Program will begin at 2:00 p.m. 

If you would like to attend the celebration virtually via Zoom, please RSVP to kathy.stephens@nebraska.gov indicating this.  Your RSVP must be received by July 20, 2020.

The meeting will be held at 4600 Valley Road, Room 4A, fourth floor, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Notice of Blind Licensee’s Committee Meeting

The Nebraska Business Enterprise (NBE) program’s Blind Licensee Committee will meet on Friday, June 26, 2020, beginning at 10:00 AM c.s.t.

Pursuant to Executive order 20-24 signed by Governor Pete Ricketts on May 19, 2020, certain waivers to the Nebraska Open Meetings Act contained in Executive Order 20-03 are extended until June 30, 2020, the meeting will be conducted electronically, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Should any member of the public or media desire to join the call, please call the Nebraska Commission for The Blind & Visually Impaired at (402)-471-2891 or (877)-809-2419 during normal business hours:  Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. c.s.t. to request instructions on how to join the call and receive an agenda.

Email is the preferred method of delivery for the instructions and agenda, but can be delivered via U.S. Postal Service, if requested.

The Board of Commissioners to the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired will meet Saturday, May 30, 2020 for a Commissioner Orientation training.  Pursuant to Executive Order number 20-03, signed by Governor Pete Ricketts on March 17, 2020 granting special waivers to the Open Meetings Act, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting will be conducted by telephone conference call.

Should any member of the public or media desire to join the call, please call Kathy Stephens at the Nebraska Commission for the Blind & Visually Impaired at (402) 471-8101 during normal business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to request instructions on how to join the call and to receive an agenda.  You may also email Kathy at kathy.stephens@nebraska.gov.

In order to receive the instructions and agenda in a timely manner, an email address is preferred, but they may be provided via U.S. Postal Service.
