Notice of Blind Licensee’s Committee Meeting

The Blind Licensee Committee will meet on Friday, December 7, 2018 starting at 10:00 AM, in Lincoln at 4600 Valley Road in the 1^st floor conference room.   A telephone conference call option will be available for those not able to attend in person.  If the phone option or any other reasonable accommodations are needed, please contact us prior to December 3 by calling NCBVI at 402-471-2891 or 877-809-2419.  Every effort will be made to arrange the accommodation. Please note you will not be able to vote or have your attendance counted if you are on the conference call.

The Board of Commissioners to the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired will meet Saturday, February 2, 2019, beginning at 9:00 A.M.  The Focus Topic will be Vending and the NBE Program. 

The meeting will be held at 4600 Valley Road in the Center Dining Room, Lincoln, Nebraska and at the NCBVI Scottsbluff Office, 505A Broadway, Suite 700, Scottsbluff, Nebraska.  This will be a video conference.  If reasonable accommodations are needed, please contact NCBVI at 402-471-2891 as soon as possible.  Every effort will be made to arrange the needed accommodation.  An agenda may be obtained by calling 877-809-2419 during regular business hours.

The Board of Commissioners to the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired will meet Saturday, November 3, 2018, beginning at 9:00 A.M.  The Focus Topic will be Outlook Nebraska and will include a presentation by ONI staff.

The meeting will be held at Outlook Nebraska, 125 South 72^nd Street, Omaha, Nebraska.

Notice of Rule Making Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (NCBVI) will hold a rule-making hearing pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. § 84-907 on the 13th day of September, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. CT, to be held at NCBVI Office, Lincoln District Conference Room, 4600 Valley Road, Lincoln, Nebraska.   

The purpose of the hearing is to take testimony and evidence about amendment of Title 192, Chapter 1, entitled “Scope of Services and Cost Containment”; Title 192, Chapter 2, entitled “Review of Vocational Rehabilitation Determinations”; Title 192, Chapter 3, entitled “Blind Vendor Program”; and Title 192, Chapter 4, entitled “Workplace Policies”.

Draft copies of the proposed rules are available at the offices of the Secretary of State, Regulations Division, Room 343, State Capitol, Lincoln, NE 68509.  There is no expected fiscal impact from amending these regulations. 

All interested persons are invited to attend and testify orally or by written submission at the hearing.  Interested persons may also submit written comments prior to the hearing which will be made part of the hearing record at the time of hearing if received by NCBVI five (5) days before the hearing.  If auxiliary aids or reasonable accommodations are needed to participate in the hearing, please call Kathy Stephens at 402-471-8101 no later than ten (10) days before the hearing.
