NOTICE OF MEETING

The Nebraska Business Enterprise (NBE) Program’s Blind Licensee Committee’s emergency meeting regarding general liability insurance has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 11th, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.

Pursuant to the Open Meetings Act amendment LB 83, approved by Governor Pete Ricketts on April 21, 2021, providing the allowance of public bodies to meet by virtual conferencing, the meeting will be conducted by Zoom Video Communications.

Should any member of the public or media desire to join the call, please email the NBE Program at ncbvi.nbe@nebraska.gov or call the Nebraska Commission for The Blind & Visually Impaired at (402)-471-2891 or 877-809-2419 during normal business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to request instructions on how to join the meeting and to receive an agenda.

Due to shortness of the notice, in order to receive the instructions and agenda in a timely manner, an email address is preferred, but every effort will be made to provide the materials via U.S. Postal Service.

The Board of Commissioners to the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired will meet Saturday, November 4, 2023, beginning at 9:00 A.M.  The Focus Topic will be Older Blind (OIB) and Independent (IL) Services. 

The meeting will be held at the Omaha State Office Building, 1313 Farnam on the Mall, Room 226, Omaha, Nebraska.  Everyone must enter the building from the east doors (13^th Street).

Notice of Blind Licensee’s Committee Meeting

The Blind Licensee Committee will meet on Friday, August 25^th, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM, in Lincoln, at the Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired Lincoln District Conference Room - 4600 Valley Road, Suite 100, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Join us at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel in Schaumburg, Illinois for the 62nd Annual Conference and Convention of the American Council of the Blind.  

Once again, ACB will be holding a hybrid conference and convention where we will be offering virtual only sessions, in-person only sessions, and virtual and in-person sessions together.

The virtual portion of the Conference and Convention begins June 19th with the Call to Order. Resolutions are heard June 20th-22nd.  Constitution and Bylaws will be heard June 23rd.  More specific information will be posted soon.

The in-person Conference and Convention begins June 30 and runs until July 7th.
